Internal transfers are used to transfer the quantity of your products from one warehouse to another.
Create an Internal Transfer
To create an internal transfer:
1. Navigate to Restock > Internal Transfers.
2. Select Add New.
3. Choose the origination and destination warehouses from the dropdowns provided and select Create to continue.
4.Select the products you’d like to add to your internal transfer by marking the checkbox and choosing Add to Internal Transfer.
5. Enter the quantity to receive in the destination warehouse for all of the products you’ve added to the internal transfer.
6. Ensure the location for the Destination Warehouse and the Origination Warehouse is correct. If you’ve added this information to your warehouse details, it will automatically populate but can be updated.
7. Submit the internal transfer by selecting Actions > Mark as In-Transit. This signifies that the products on the transfer are on the way from the origination warehouse to the destination warehouse.
When the internal transfer is marked as in-transit, the quantity for those products will no longer show in the origination warehouse. For example:
Before the Internal Transfer:
Quantity on Hand = 24
Warehouse A = 14
Warehouse B = 10
If you’re sending 10 units from Warehouse A to Warehouse B:
Once Marked as In-Transit:
Quantity on Hand = 14
Warehouse A = 4
Warehouse B = 10
Receive an Internal Transfer
Once you’ve submitted the internal transfer and it has been received by the destination warehouse, you’ll need to receive the internal transfer to update quantity for your products in the destination warehouse.
To receive an internal transfer:
1. Navigate to Restock > Internal Transfers.
2. Select In-Transit to view your in-transit work orders.
3. Choose Actions > View to open the internal transfer you’d like to receive.
4. On the Destination Location tile, select Complete Transfer.
5. Enter the quantity that was received into the destination warehouse. If every item on the internal transfer was received, you can choose the Mark All Received option.
6. Select Mark as Received to receive your selected units and update quantity in the destination warehouse.
Once the products on the internal transfer are marked as received, the quantity for those products will show in the destination warehouse. Using the previous example:
Marked as Received
Quantity on Hand = 24
Warehouse A = 4
Warehouse B = 20
