There are a few ways you can configure ecomdash to sync out your inventory balance depending on your business model. Here are a few terms to help understand the terminology used at ecomdash:
SKU Number: This is the primary way a product is uniquely identified within ecomdash. All products need to have a unique SKU number.
Reference ID: Within ecomdash you can define mappings in the case you have 1 product listed on various channels under different SKU’s. You can use the Reference ID which defaults to your SKU to create mappings to link different listings on different channels together under the same SKU.
Quantity on Hand: This should be your actual physical balance of inventory that you have in stock. This field is located within a product detail screen on the details tab.
Available Quantity: This would be a public quantity that you want to show on your channels. This can be used if for example you have 100 Quantity on Hand but only want to show 10 as available on a sales channel you can update the Available Quantity value to be 10 and that is what ecomdash would sync out. This field is located in a product detail screen, on the Storefront Tab and is available to be set independently for each sales channel.
Always Sync Available Quantity: This checkbox will tell ecomdash to not sync using your quantity on hand at all but only sync using your Available Quantity defined and ignore your quantity on hand. This is used in cases where you allow oversells, preorders or want to pin and unlimited number of a balance for a specific product on your sales channels. This field is located in a product detail screen, on the Storefront Tab and is available to be set independently for each sales channel.
Reserve Level: In some cases you will want to consider some inventory committed even though there are no active sales orders against them. This can be used in the case of auctions, or to create a safety level for your products. When you set this value, ecomdash will subtract this value from your quantity on hand when syncing. This field is located within a product detail screen on the details tab.
