Within ecomdash, there are different quantity fields that have different purposes. Their explanations are listed below:
Quantity on Hand: the true quantity of inventory you have in stock. This can be found by navigating to Inventory > Inventory Management > Product Details
Max Available Quantity: If you want your storefront to show a different quantity than what you have in your quantity on hand field, you would change the available quantity. When set, ecomdash will send the lower value of Max Available Quantity or Quantity on Hand to your storefront. For example. If your Quantity on Hand is 50 and your Max Available Quantity is 30, ecomdash will sync a 30. If your Quantity on Hand is 25 and your Max Available Quantity is 30, ecomdash will sync a 25. There is also an option to "Always Use Max Available Quantity". When selected, ecomdash will always send the Available Quantity to your storefronts regardless of your Quantity on Hand. Note: enabling this option can result in sales occurring for products that you do not have quantity of. Ensure you are prepared for this behavior before enabling this feature. Max Available Quantity settings can be found by navigating to Inventory > Inventory Management > Product Details > Storefronts. You can also set Available Quantity in Bulk.
Warehouse Quantity: the quantity that is being held at that specific warehouse. If you have an FBA warehouse set up, they will send us inventory levels for your products at that warehouse. This can be found by navigating to Inventory > Inventory Management > Product Details > Scroll to the bottom of the page to the Warehouse section
Reserve Level: The reserve level is used to hold back part your inventory from showing up on your storefronts. For example, if you have a quantity on hand of 10, and set your reserve level to 3, ecomdash will send a quantity sync of 7 out to your storefront. This is useful in the case of auctions or fast selling products. It creates a safety level for your products. The reserve level can be set at the product level, and also for specific storefronts. This can be found by navigating to Inventory > Inventory Management > Product Details. You can also set Reserve Level in Bulk.
Sync Quantity: The sync quantity is the quantity that is syncable and able to be sent out to your storefront. This is calculated by taking the warehouse quantity for all warehouses where you have "include in sync balance" checked. If you do not want the quantity of a warehouse to show on your storefront, simply uncheck that box and we will not include this quantity in your Sync Quantity. This can be set at a product level by navigating to Inventory > Inventory Management > Product Details or at a warehouse level under Settings > Inventory Settings > Multi-Warehousing.
**Things to Consider**
Ecomdash by default will display the lower of Quantity on Hand or Available Quantity to your sales channel unless you tell us to always use available quantity.
As a default, the available quantity set to 999 in ecomdash.
Ecomdash is the master of inventory. So any quantity changes made outside of ecomdash will not be reflected in any of the quantity fields. If you need to make any changes to your inventory, the changes will need to be made in ecomdash, through a manual change or inventory feed.
If you have Auto Sync enabled, changes to your Quantity on Hand or Warehouse Quantity will be pushed out automatically. We recommend pushing out a manual Sync Now anytime you make a quantity change. For more on Auto Sync, click here.
