Auto Sync is the feature ecomdash uses to keep your inventory synced up across each of your storefronts. Once enabled for a product, ecomdash will queue up a quantity sync to all of your integrated storefronts anytime the quantity changes for the product, whether that change is caused by a sales order, inventory file upload, or manual adjustment. Below are the steps you should take to enable Auto Sync for your account and the products in your inventory.
Please note: Turning on Auto Sync allows ecomdash to begin pushing quantity levels out to your active listings as soon as a product's quantity level changes, so to ensure the your listings are kept accurate, please make sure your quantities in ecomdash are accurate before proceeding.
Enabling Auto Sync for individual products
- Once you have ensured the quantity of a product in your ecomdash inventory is correct, you can click Auto Sync toggle next to the SKU.
- Make sure you are on the Details tab
- Check the "Auto Sync" box to enable Auto Sync for the product.
- Save
- You can also select products in the All Inventory screen and then click Bulk Actions > Turn on Auto Sync to turn on Auto Sync for selected amounts of products.
***Remember, turning on Auto Sync allows ecomdash to sync out a product's quantity level only when it changes, so simply turning on Auto Sync will not push out a sync. To immediately push out quantities, you will need to perform a Sync Now (see instructions on how to do so below) or manually adjust the quantity to trigger a sync.
Enabling Auto Sync for all products
- Once you have ensured the quantities in your ecomdash inventory are correct, you can click Bulk Actions > Turn on Auto Sync for All in Filter. You can also use the available filters to be more selective in the products you want to turn Auto Sync on for in bulk. If you do not select any filters, Turn on Auto Sync for All in Filter will enable Auto Sync for all products.
- Please leave the tab/window open during this process to ensure the task is not interrupted.
Performing a Sync Now
Turning on Auto Sync ensures any future quantity changes are synced out to your storefronts, but doesn't automatically trigger a sync when enabled. As such, you may want to also perform a Sync Now to force out the quantities in your ecomdash inventory to your active listings to ensure your quantities are the same everywhere.
- You can select up to 250 products at a time in your Inventory Management screen by changing the view to 250 and checking the box that selects all products.
- Once selected, click Bulk Actions > Sync Now
- If you have more than 250 products, you will simply need to go to the next page of inventory and repeat the process.
Note: Preforming a Sync Now will automatically enable Auto Sync for the product.
Auto Sync Rules
When new inventory is added to ecomdash, you can choose if Auto Sync should be automatically enabled or not. These rules can be defined by navigating to Settings > Inventory Settings > Inventory. These rules can be customized for different methods of inventory creation. Note, if a product is created in ecomdash during an order import, it is automatically assigned a quantity of 0. Enabling Auto Sync automatically for Import Orders will result in a 0 quantity being immediately synced out on creation of these items. (These rules are only available for customers who have subscribed to ecomdash)
Monitoring your Inventory Syncs
If you notice the quantities on your listings are not matching up with your quantities in ecomdash, or you simply want to check on the status of your syncs, you can go to History (Flag icon in navigation bar) > Inventory > Inventory Sync History to see the status message for all your syncs. If you see any errors that you do not understand, you can find more information on some of the most common sync issues here.
