"Error: We are unable to accept your fine jewelry product submissions because you are not currently authorized to list Fine Jewelry in the Jewelry category."

In order to sell fine jewelry, Amazon requires that you request approval from amazon.com. This is to ensure that all fine jewelry meets product quality, product branding, and consumer safety standards. Here is how Amazon categorizes fine v. fashion jewelry:

  • "Fine jewelry is made out of precious metal and/or set with precious or semi-precious gemstones and/or cultured or natural pearls."

  • "Fashion jewelry is not made of precious metals (except previous metal plating over non-precious/base metal) and does not contain in any of the precious or semi-precious gemstones or pearls, or other materials listed above. Fashion Jewelry metals include base metals, such as brass, cobalt, copper, iron, pyrite, stainless steel, titanium, and tungsten. Fashion jewelry also includes jewelry made with an underlying base metal and plated with precious metal."

If your items fall under the category of fine jewelry, you will need to request an approval to sell fine jewelry products. To request an approval, you can do so by sending a request to jewelry-qa-program@amazon.com.
